Cookie policy

Warning - boring bit alert!

This website uses cookies, (as do most other websites on the internet!). But as we are based in UK/EU we are obliged to tell you so!
The powers to be want us to tell you by using a pop-up message or prominent banner message, on the main page, which you would have to click through in order to use the site, but we have chosen not to do that.
Why?.....
  • Because it's unnecessary
  • Because these messages are an absolute pain to the user (you)
  • Because it is self-defeating (in order to remember that you have seen the message and clicked to clear it, and not to re-display it every time you visit the site, we would have to get the site to remember it, by...   wait for it...   using a persistent cookie!!   But for your privacy, we have chosen not to use persistent cookies!)
So instead, we have chosen not to ram our cookie policy down your throat but to make it available for any person who is actually bored enough to want to read it, by providing a discreet link at the bottom of every page.

Our cookie policy:

  • This site uses only a single short-term session cookie.
  • Why? - because we need to, otherwise many of the pages won't work properly.   (e.g. the members only pages, contact forms, messageboard, etc.)
  • This cookie is automatically deleted as soon as you finish your browsing session, you don't have to do anything.
  • By continuing to use this site you consent to this session cookie being used. But you don’t have to worry about it. It’s only a single simple session ID number, nothing more, no other info is stored or linked to it, and it is automatically deleted by your own browser as soon as you finish your current browsing session anyway, then it’s gone... for ever...

For your security and privacy:

  • We do not use persistent cookies
  • We do not use third party cookies
  • We do not use tracking cookies
  • We do not use advertising cookies
  • We do not use Google analytics (or anything else that helps Google track you)
  • We do not use any Facebook code (or anything else that helps Facebook track you)
  • We do not do anything sinister at all...
  • Why? - because we don't need to.
OK, boring bit over, feel free to go back and browse the site now...   Back to home page
